Chinese groups unveil world's tallest offshore wind turbine

Chinese firms  have announced the construction of the world's tallest offshore wind turbine, its technical name is Ming Yang MYSE 16.0-242.

According to media reports, it is specially designed to withstand strong winds, which is why it will be installed at sea, even if the wind is the strongest (rather than a hurricane) of 56 meters per second. However, if the wind speed exceeds 8.5 meters per second, its blades begin to rotate and generate electricity.

China generates more than 5,882,943,540 MWh of electricity (covering more than 106% of its annual consumption needs).71%  comes from nonrenewable fossil fuels, 26% from renewable, 20% hydro, 7% non-hydro, 4.03% wind, solar 1.28%, bio-thermal n waste 1.29%, nuclear 3%, still owing to use of electrified gadgets and population with 1.4 billion, the requirements for electricity is also increasing manifold. so China is exploring avenues for electricity from solar and wind.

So a real Govt with leaders of futuristic outlook, plan ahead well before to meet such widening gap in all sectors by addressing forthcoming challenges timely.

The said initiative is also directed towards adding another big electricity generation in the line transmission. Chinese officials say it can generate 18 megawatts of electricity at a time, but only 80 gigawatts of electricity per year from one tower can be obtained.

Functionally, the wind turbine will be as wide as 12 National Football League fields and its three blades can be 128 meters long each time it rotates, officials said.
