Glass train project for tourist promotion


In a bid to promote tourism in the hilly region of murree, a well appreciated initiative for glass train project from Rawalpindi to Murree has been approved by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

The approval was granted in a meeting chaired by chief minister in Murree to beautify the popular hill station.

This project will add more attraction to the visitors beside offloading the traffic congestion during seasoñal holidays.

The government will hire the services of the international consultants to execute the glass train project.

The chef minister also approved various other projects for development, beautification of Murree.

A decision was also made to remove high-rise hotel buildings obstructing the natural scenery of Mall Road Rawalpindi.

The construction and expansion of old Rawalpindi-Murree-Kashmir Road was approved.

Furthermore, the government has decided to remove hotels around the GPO chowk and restore all old buildings.This action will likly to restore decades old heritage.

Hundreds of thousands of people from across the country visit the hill station every year, as the hill station provide a very pleasant weather during hot summer.

It will be more appropiate if afforestation move is also initiated as in the previous years large scale cutting and deforestation and construction of buildings has badly affected the natural topography and climate of the entire hilly areas.
